II x D

(ahh I know, that wasn’t very nice. It’s just that I used binary to represent 500 that I decided to go for Roman Numerals for 1000 i.e II x D = 2 x 500)

Random Specific Thoughts was started by an impulsive and reckless 15-year old and left dormant for a year before quarantine led her back in. It started out with writes like Dragons & Fairies and Hollow Hearts which were childish, clichéd and just ramblings in general. I never thought I’d stick with this blog solely because I wasn’t a huge fan of social media and online communities and because I was just scared of everyone in general.

But 2 years later, my blog is still here and so am I.

And it’s all thanks to you – for reading, liking, commenting and helping me see the world is not all we talk it out to be and for showing how it can be better.

WordPress has been that soft spot of goodness in a dark world where we’ve all made friends and learnt so much – a place that didn’t force us to change but encouraged us to. A haven where opinions are respected and speech is romanticised. A creative outlet where everyone writes about everything under the sun. I’ve met artists, writers, engineers, doctors, like-minded students and people from all walks of life and it’s like one of those utopian societies we all write and dream about and I’m so grateful to have stumbled across it and humbled to have found acceptance.

I thank each and every one of you, so so much, for choosing to follow Random Specific Thoughts. It’s been an incredible journey so far and I can’t wait to make more memories here.

I love reading what people write, I enjoy asking questions and getting honest answers – it’s how I’ve grown to create a character sketch, understand others and make friends.

I would love to get to know all of you on a deeper level and understand what gives soul to your work – which is why I’m introducing a new tag for anyone who identifies as an artist, a scribbler, a writer or anyone who who gives their imagination a tangible form through anything at all.

Introducing the heart & soul spill tag

The heart & soul spill tag invites you to wear your heart on a sleeve and write passionately about what art means to you and how you’ve come to be a part of it.

There are no rules but there are three things to include:

  1. A random thought that keeps coming back
  2. Your favourite work of art that has influenced you (can be a song, a poem, a book, a painting, a movie; anything you consider art)
  3. A new word or a word that you rarely use (you can use it or it can serve as inspiration)

There are no word limits or required forms (can be a painting, poetry, a story etc) – it just has to speak for what kind of person you are and portray art in the form of something that you love.

You don’t necessarily have to mention the above three things in your post but you can, if you feel like it imparts context to your work. If you’re flexible with titles you can use heart & soul spill – (a keyword that relates to your post) but that’s optional too along with the shown logo.

You can tag anyone you’d like to get to know better or to make new friends.

I’d love to read all of your takes on this and get to know you better as a person, and as an artist.

With that said, thank you so much again, for letting me be a part of something so wholesome!

Thoughtfully yours,
D

I so agree with you on this:

A haven where opinions are respected and speech is romanticised. A creative outlet where everyone writes about everything under the sun.
