Hello everyone! I hope you have all gotten acquainted to writing 2020, striking it and writing 2021 in its place. I’ve done it so many times, I’ve lost count already. So, today’s post is a-cup-of-tea-and-a-chat kind. I’ll be talking about the responses to my feedback form, some future stuff and generally confront a few topics I’ve never talked about here.

To keep myself from rambling, this post will be divided into parts, the first part will comprise of the feedback responses and part two will cover the consequent changes, part three will include future stuff (plans?) You could just skip to part 2 because it’s more or less a summary of part 1!

~Feedback Analysis~

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the worst, how would you rate my content?

The answers were quite diverse here; I received a couple of 1s, 3s, 8s and 9s. But judging by the number of positive answers I got to the next question, I think most of the 8s and 9s were because everyone’s usually accustomed to 10 being the best. I’m aware my written works aren’t the best and there is always scope for improvement and they can come across as 8 and 9 depending on the reader’s perspective.

But considering the positive answers to the next question, the major ratings lie from 1 to 5 on the scale I’ve described, so it seems as if my works are satisfactory to say the least.

Do you think my articles or poems are worth reading? (Please be honest!)

As I said, about 99% were positive about this with one person saying the prompts were great but they didn’t like that kind of writing. It was a very euphoric moment to see so many positive answers to this question!

Is there anything about my blog that seems repetitive or boring?

The responses to this question were quite overwhelming and I was really happy to read one person saying, they enjoyed the diversity with another remarking on the originality. Yet another blogger suggested that I write on different topics to get to know me better, how I view various topics, etc. A blogger also mentioned that they enjoyed the repetition of articles and poems. But I was actually alluding to the themes/subject of my writings. Thank you so much for all your kind responses!

Which of these unusual posts do you think you might like?

There was a clear winner here! Entertainment is something that I have been thinking about for a long while because it seemed ironic I had a random blog where there was hardly any mention of books or movies that I love.

The second winner here was Blogging related posts, which ended up being quite tricky to me. I’m not exactly eligible or qualified to write that sort of posts, but I try to share the little I do know. Just a few months ago, I joined Living The Blogging Life, where I write posts entirely devoted to blogging. Since it is a collaborative blog run by a team of amazing bloggers, you can find posts on different topics and if you can’t find one, you can ask for a post on any subject you want right here!

Educational writes came third, and while this too is something that I enjoy writing, I don’t think I can write unless I have a specific topic to write for.

Is there any specific category you would want to see on Random Specific Thoughts? I do articles, poems, bookish, art and lifestyle-ish as of now. (Art and lifestyle aren’t prominent categories)

This had a lot of diverse answers! I’ll go through them one by one:

A dear friend suggested short fiction or creative non-fiction which sounded great to me! I actually do write stories in real life, I never shared them here because they’re always either too long or on cliche themes. But creative non-fiction was a new idea and I hope to follow up on that eventually!

Another blogger asked if there was a process I followed for writing Poetry. It isn’t that much of a process really but I still would like to write a dedicated post for that, which will be published on January 21 . I am not a professional writer or poet and my process is barely anything more than a few thought processes that happen in series, but I feel like I still want to write more on it.

For the few that said they like bookish, I do have a book blog named Paper Hearts, I don’t post there as often as I would like to but it’s solely dedicated to books.

Art received a lot of love too and while my art is actually poor compared to the art in the blogosphere, I am thinking of delving more into portraits, and hand lettering.

Another friend suggested stuffie posts too! As much as I love reading them, I don’t have stuffed animals (I know, it’s shocking) or the experience required to write fun posts!

This brings us to the next very common suggestion, lifestyle. I got quite a few responses with one person saying they’d like to see more in Lifestyle-ish, with another blogger saying they prefer reading more about the blogger and their take on different topics while another person mentioned, my writing wasn’t relatable and they didn’t know how to respond to my posts and while another said they preferred just simple updates on life.

Hehe, sorry about that. This is something I’ve wanted to talk about for a while, while it’s definitely a bonus when one of you can relate to something I describe, my wider aim is to make you think differently, appreciate certain aspects or just provide a good reading experience.

In all honesty, I do not intend on writing proper lifestyle content, not only because I don’t enjoy writing that kind of posts but also because it feels very strained and forced for me, not to mention the fact that me writing lifestyle posts will make for a very boring read for you, even more boring than usual. My lifestyle-ish category confronts certain aspects of life, that I love learning more about but aren’t related to me directly. For instance, the few posts of this category that I’m currently considering writing, talk about my thoughts on make-up, introversion, another one on media etc.

Don’t get me wrong, some of my favourite bloggers are lifestyle bloggers and while I love reading their blogs, it never feels like something I would enjoy doing or writing.

Would you be interested in guest posting here? (provided the subject of your post is not inappropriate, harmful or directed towards anyone)

Again, this received a huge variety of answers, but if I combine the ‘maybe’ and the ‘yes’, I have 80% who are interested. One person suggested specifically ‘interviewing authors or bloggers with a huge following’ which I’m not so sure about. Interviewing authors sounds amazing but if I were interviewing bloggers as well, I think their following is irrelevant to the questions I would ask.

Do my posts or I come across as rude and unfriendly? (I apologise if I have).

I was hoping for zero ‘yes’ answers, but I got one. This too is something I believe I should have mentioned earlier. Being an introvert, I’m not good at expressing myself well through talking, and I’m a very awkward person.

When I write articles or poems, I tend to write in a more detached tone and take on a more human personality when I’m chatting with you all in the comments. I never intend to be rude, even when someone leaves a rude or insulting comment, unless the person is a verified user, I just ignore them. In the event, the said person is a blogger, I acknowledge their views coldly, yes but politely and end my response thanking them.

Is there anything else, anything at all that you would like to say?

Goodness, these answers were so kind and encouraging, there was enough to keep me blogging for a century. Thank you so very much for taking the time to convey so much positivity!

~Consequent Changes~

➼An entertainment post, probably once a month, they could be about movies or songs. I’m more into analysing them but I might try my hand at reviewing them as well. For a teen, my tastes in entertainment are considered rather dry.

➼The school essays is something that I would love to acknowledge but that is something that I would put into practice a year later. I plan on having a form where you can request for essays on topics you want. You’ll see why I’m putting it off by a year later in the next part.

➼MAYBE a chatty post every two months depending on how annoying this one appears. I just feel so awkward writing this, is that normal? (This also explains why there is a #1 in the title of this post).

➼Increase in the frequency of Lifestyle-ish without a decrease in my other writing categories. These would probably be on Thursdays but as I mentioned, these would be about more general topics unlike the usual lifestyle posts.

➼I’ll probably be opening guest posting sometime in April. I’m not very sure about the idea but I also want to encourage others to share more and I want my blog to have some diverse content from different perspectives. So after, I overthink every possible outcome, I’ll let you all know!

➼As of now, I don’t plan on changing my schedule, my blogging days still remain alternate Thursdays and Sundays, with Sundays for more writing-oriented posts and art and Thursdays for random, entertainment etc. (Hopefully. I sound so sure of everything when I’m a nervous wreck).

~Breaking Down The Future~

I’m not a huge fan of celebrating my birthday which is why there was no mention of it on my blog. But I turned 17 very recently and I’m getting used to not being 16 although I still haven’t gotten over feeling 10. It’s a weird feeling to keep growing but I don’t feel any drastic change in my head or heart and I don’t seem to be reaching anywhere.

How is it even possible to feel all three of them (shown below) at once?!
(All comics by Sarah C Andersen)

I can’t emphasise on how true this is. My tenth grade was SO dramatic.

I can already say it’s going to be the same for school

Well, being 17 also implies that I’ll be in grade 12 soon. It’s my last year of school and I can’t even imagine a life where I don’t spend half my life’s days cooped up in a classroom.

I hope to prioritize academics more, so I’d say about 90% of everything you read this year is going to be a scheduled post, possibly something I wrote last year. I hope there is no drop in quality as I won’t be spending as much time as I usually do to edit or design graphics.

I’ll still be reading and present, just not as frequently as I have been the past year. I usually save everyone’s posts, so even if I’m days late, I do get around to reading all of your posts, eventually. This can be seen on those days when I bulk read posts and spam all your notifications. Sorry.

It is January now, we have a short break coming up soon when I hope to get some bulk writing done, and work on a few collaborations with some bloggers I admire!!

I’m not quite sure about this, but I might go on a full hiatus from January 2022 all the way till April 2022. It all depends on how productive I end up being, in getting some work done. If there is one thing I’m the best at, it’s procrastinating.

How ironic.

And that is all! Whew, that was long wasn’t it? If you read all the way till here, thank you so much! If you didn’t thank you too! It’s hard work scrolling through all that but having to stop to read the memes.

Anyways, I apologise if this was too tiring to read but hope you liked some part of it.

If there is anything you’d like to to know, please feel free to ask! I’ll answer them as honestly as I can as long as they don’t involve details like my name and address.

Thoughtfully yours,
-Introverted Thought aka D
